Recipe Variations:
- To make without seeds: Use a fine mesh sieve or strainer to push the puree through and remove as many seeds as possible.
- To make strawberry compote or sauce: To make a thick texture, more like compote, do not process too smoothly, leaving chunks. Use cornstarch to thicken the mixture.
- To make jam: Use gelatin to thicken the mixture to more of a jam and allow time for it to be set up in the fridge before consuming.
Expert Tips
- Try Costco, Sam's Club, or even your local farmer's market to buy strawberries in bulk during the season to get them for less.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container or jar in the fridge for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
- Freezer: Store leftover pureed strawberries in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
