Smoothie with Almond Milk Make-Ahead Freezer

One of my favorite easy and healthy breakfast recipes is a smoothie with almond milk.  Every morning I'm in the car driving my kids to school so an on-the-go breakfast is a must!

It can be so easy and tempting to drive through or get a sugary treat for breakfast when you're pressed for time!  But,  smoothies are the perfect healthy way to have a quick breakfast on-the-go.

How to Make the Perfect Smoothie

Getting the perfect smoothie is achievable!  Here are my tips for making the perfect smoothie at home.  You will want to find almond milk that you love.  My favorite almond milk is a coconut almond milk blend from Califia.

Start with 8 ounces of almond milk.  Then read on for how to make the perfect smoothie!

    Find Your Perfect Smoothie Temperature

Ice can make all the difference when it comes to smoothies!  I've found that I like my smoothies cold!  I usually use frozen fruit or add in a few ice cubes to make my smoothie cold.

If you don't like your smoothie super cold then using fresh fruit is a great way to pump up the flavor and make your smoothie delicious!

    What's Your Consistency?

Most people agree - a smooth smoothie is a must.  Getting a smoothie with the perfect consistency can be achieved a couple of ways.

    • add some avocado
    • add banana
    • blend your smoothie twice

Also - the thickness of your smoothie is important!  If you like a thinner smoothie, use less liquid.  If you like your smoothie with almond milk thicker, use less almond milk!

    Favorite flavor combos?

Finding your favorite flavor combination is super important to making a great smoothie.  Giving different flavor combinations a try will help you to find out your favorite flavor.

My two favorite combinations are chocolate peanut butter with banana and vanilla with cherries and blueberries.

Add 8 ounces of almond milk to a blender and a one of these smoothie combos and you'll have a great smoothie!

    • Chocolate protein powder, banana, peanut butter, oats
    • Strawberry, kiwi, hemp hearts, vanilla protein powder
    • Vanilla protein powder, cherries, strawberries and chia
    • Vanilla protein powder, peach, berries, oats and almond butter
    • Chocolate protein powder, cherries, almond butter

As you can see - I add spinach to all of my smoothies to bump up the nutrition and veggie power!
