Ninja Foodi Pressure Cook Directions
Steps 1 and 2
- Place eggs (12) on the egg rack or using a sling and lower them into the chamber. Add 1 cup water.
- Turn the valve to sealing. Cook on manual high pressure for 5 minutes then use the natural release (aka leave it alone after cooking) for 5 minutes.
Air Crisp Directions
Step 1
- Preheat your appliance to 270F. Place eggs (6) in the basket and air fry them for 15 minutes.
This will produce a medium-boiled egg. If you want them to be more soft-boiled, reduce the cooking time. If you want them to be hard-cooked, increase the cooking time.
Next Step: Ice Bath
Once they are done cooking using either method, use a slotted spoon to move eggs to a large bowl filled with an ice water bath for 5 minutes. Allow them to cool before peeling.
Expert Tips
- Before you cook: Although this is a recipe for Ninja Foodi hard-boiled eggs, you may be trying it out in a different multi-cooker or air fryer. Note that all cookers are different and depending on the age of the model as well as how fresh your eggs are will impact the easy peel ability as well as the cooking time. Finding the perfect yolk is each person's personal preference so I highly suggest experimenting with one or two before you cook the whole dozen.
- Regarding other models: If your particular cooker does not match the temperature and time settings in the recipe card, consult your manual for further instructions. The Ninja Foodi air fryer function is 1800 watts for reference.
- For easy removal: I use the wire rack of the Instant Pot silicone sling to easily lift them out.
- Easy peel directions: The easiest way to peel these hard-cooked eggs is to soak them in an ice bath immediately upon removal from the Ninja Foodi to immediately stop the cooking process. You can also place the ice water into the refrigerator to further cool them down.
- Storage: Cooked eggs last in the fridge for up to a week when placed in an airtight container. Peeled eggs should be stored in a bowl of water in the refrigerator and be sure to change the water daily. Freezing is not recommended.
- If using the air-fried method, you may see little brown bumps appear on the outside of the shell. Disregard these, they will not harm the egg.
Recipe FAQs
Boiling Ninja Foodi hard-boiled eggs is super easy by adding 12 eggs to the trivet along with 1 cup of water and pressuring cooking on manual high for 5 minutes. Refer to the recipe card for additional details.
The 5-5-5 method makes Instant Pot, pressure cooker, or Ninja Foodi hard-boiled eggs. This method yields the easiest peel ones you will find.
The 5-5-5 means there are 5 minutes to cook, 5 minutes to release pressure, and 5 minutes in an ice bath. This method is super quick and easy to follow.
To use the pressure cooker function, add no more than 12 to the basket. When utilizing the air-fried function, add no more than 6 to the basket.
I've found the ice bath is the best method for getting hard-boiled eggs easy to peel. They are also much easier to peel once they have cooled from the ice water bath which helps the shell not stick to the egg.
If possible, peel your eggs once they have cooled. Storing eggs in the shell makes them harder to peel. This won't apply if you are using them for dyeing Easter eggs. Use fresh eggs and submerge them in the ice bath until they cool if you are leaving the shell on during storage.
Age of the egg, the temperature of the water when putting it in, the type of egg being used, and the size of the egg all impact cooking.
It’s best to use fresh, new eggs and room temperature, large eggs when following these directions. This will help you to achieve the perfectly cooked hard-boiled egg.
I've found Ninja Foodi hard-boiled eggs to be the most reliable method. While no process is perfect, this one has definitely produced the most consistent results for me.
Green around the yolk is likely due to overcooking. This is especially problematic with older eggs. If using older eggs or you are concerned about overcooking, reduce cook time to 4 minutes.

I'm a single man and I hate to cook. Never been able to boil an egg and it peel right. After using your method I got perfectly peeled boiled eggs. I used tap water instead of iced. My biggest problem now is storage. Boiled eggs don't last long around my house!l .
