Homemade Meatball Ingredients
Follow one of our homemade meatball recipes such as eggless meatballs, slow cooker turkey meatballs, or instant pot meatballs to make these turkey meatball subs.
Make this recipe using leftover meatballs, or frozen meatballs, or make homemade meatballs using the ingredients shown in the image above.
To make homemade meatballs you need almond flour, ground turkey, almond flour or breadcrumbs, salt, garlic, fresh parsley, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, olive oil or eggs, and marinara sauce.
Turkey Meatball Sub Ingredients
Hoagie rolls: soft Italian sub rolls or French bread hoagie bun, or sub bun work well for this recipe. Even hot dog buns will work in a pinch.
Mozzarella Cheese: Gooey mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese bring the sandwich together with a cheesy flavor. Use part-skim or fresh mozzarella.
Marinara Sauce: Use your favorite marinara sauce, spaghetti sauce, or tomato sauce.
How to Make Turkey Meatball Subs

Step 1
Follow a homemade meatball recipe (try crockpot turkey meatballs, instant pot turkey meatballs, or eggless meatballs with olive oil), or prepare frozen meatballs or pre-cooked ones.
Step 2
Add marinara sauce to a large bowl (heat-safe) and the cooked meatballs and heat the meatballs in the microwave if not already warm.
Step 3
Slice an opening in the hoagie rolls. Add cheese, meatballs, sauce, and then a little bit of extra cheese to the top of the meatballs.
Step 4
Wrap the subs in foil, place them on a prepared baking sheet, and bake at 350 F for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts and the meatballs are heated through.
