  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 box yellow cake mix

Instructions

  • Wash, peel, and slice fresh peaches. Place sliced peaches into a lightly buttered 8X8 baking dish.
    6 medium fresh peaches
  • Place butter into a large bowl. Melt butter in the microwave in 30-second increments or until melted. Stir in cake mix.
1 stick butter, 1 box yellow cake mix
  • Use a fork to mix cake mix with butter until mixture represents clumps of wet sand.
  • Press cake mix mixture onto the top of the sliced peaches to create a crust.
  • Bake at 350F for 30 minutes or until the cobbler is bubbling and the top is lightly browned.

Notes

Canned and frozen peaches generally have a naturally sweet flavor. If necessary, adjust the sweetness of fresh peaches by adding honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar if desired.
When preparing the peach cobbler batter, be sure to mix it gently and just until it comes together. Over-mixing can make the cobbler tough and dry.
Peach cobbler with cake mix is best served warm out of the oven. Allow the cobbler to sit for 10 minutes before topping it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, frozen yogurt, or whipped cream for an added treat.
Store leftovers in an airtight container or wrapped tightly with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Eat leftovers cold or reheat in the oven until heated through.
