How to Stock Your Pantry for Easy Meals to Cook at Home
There are a few basics that, when you have a back stock, can be super helpful in creating easy pantry meals:
Pantry Staples to Have on Hand
Oils + Vinegars: Oils and vinegars work as bases for many dishes and can provide marinades, sauces and be used to cook with.
Spices + Herbs: having a variety of spices on hand can make the same dish different, just by using different spices.
Baking Ingredients: having basic baking ingredients like flour, sugar, baking soda and salt can give you the ability to recreate many store bought baked goods at home. Banana Bread is great for using up old bananas and I love Pumpkin Muffins for when I have canned pumpkin in my pantry.
Beans + Lentils: Lentils and beans are a great protein and fiber base for when meat is not available.
Canned Veggies: Diced tomatoes are a great addition for soups like my favorite Chicken Enchilada Soup.
Broths: Broths are the bases for soups or broth bowls. You can also use them to slow cook meat you may have on hand in the freezer. This Pulled Pork Recipe is great for your slow cooker.
Sauces: Marinara sauce is great to have on hand to throw together an easy pasta dish like my favorite Cauliflower Gnocchi.
Freezer Staples to Have on Hand
Frozen Meat: I like to keep chicken, ground turkey, sausage and salmon on hand to make some easy recipes like Easy Salmon.
Freezer Veggies: Frozen veggies are great for soups, casseroles and stir fry recipes like this Clean Eating Stir Fry Recipe.
Frozen Fruit: Frozen fruit is great to have on hand for smoothies like these Make Ahead Almond Milk Smoothies.
