Recently, a new restaurant had popped up near us called Revival on Lincoln, a local Pittsburgh restaurant. Once I learned that Revival and Chef Jamie Sola had teamed up with Walmart for the relaunch of its Rediscovering America program, I could not wait to go!

The Rediscovering America program aims to highlight the fresh, locally grown, and affordable fruits and vegetables available in Walmart stores. This year, the program partnered with nine celebrated chefs from across the country, including Chef Jamie of Revival on Lincoln. Through the program, Walmart is tasking the chefs to create one-of-a-kind, Walmart-inspired dishes to include on their own menus, and I’m so glad I got to go try the one available in Pittsburgh.

Giorgio Farms Herb Roasted White Organic Mushrooms Revival

While at Revival, I was able to sample the Giorgio Farms Herb Roasted White Organic Mushrooms Revival. The appetizer consisted of:

  • cauliflower cream
  • house made country sausage
  • arugula
  • watercress
  • dried cherries
  • shaved fennel
  • Moscato vinaigrette
  • shaved Manchego
  • organic white mushrooms from Giorgio Farms

It was so delicious! The flavors were so complimentary, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. I couldn’t believe that the mushrooms were locally grown and from Walmart!

Through this experience, I learned that Walmart supports thousands of local farms and farmers to provide their customers across the country with that “fresh-picked” flavor, all at an affordable price. It goes to show that we don’t need to sacrifice high-quality taste for affordability. The same quality of local produce that is used in gourmet restaurants like Revival on Lincoln, are also available to the home cook.

Mushroom Swiss Burger Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

The Giorgio Farms Herb Roasted White Organic Mushrooms Revival was absolutely delicious and inspired me to create my own recipe at home using the same Giorgio Farms Organic Mushrooms. All of the ingredients in my recipe are available at Walmart and can actually be ordered online to save you time through Walmart’s service.

If you love mushrooms and burgers, this is the appetizer for you. I decided to combine the two ideas for a mushroom Swiss burger stuffed mushroom. Mushroom Swiss Burger Stuffed Mushrooms are an easy appetizer idea for a holiday party or any time of the year. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, I wanted to create an easy healthy appetizer that highlighted mushrooms.

How to Make Mushroom Swiss Burger Stuffed Mushrooms

  • Clean 20 mini baby Bella mushrooms and remove stems. Set aside on a baking sheet and preheat oven to 375F.
  • Season one pound of turkey sausage with 1 tsp of garlic powder. Cook turkey sausage in a skillet until cooked through. Set aside and allow meat to cool.
  • Combine turkey sausage, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, 1 cup of shredded Swiss and 1/3 cup of Greek yogurt. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Using a mini cookie scoop, scoop a small dollop onto each mushroom cap.
  • Bake mushroom caps at 375F for 15 minutes. Top with remaining 1/4 cup of Swiss cheese and bake for additional 5 minutes.
  • Serve immediately.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound turkey sausage
  • 20 baby Bella mushrooms
