Foods rich in micronutrients will help to build up your immunity during the winter.  Consequently, if you are eating enough nutrient-rich foods, you will definitely give your immune system a boost.

Foods that are nutrient-dense and help the fight illness and help immunity include foods such as:

  • Citrus fruits like oranges, clementines, grapefruit, lemons, limes
  • Vegetables such as spinach, red bell peppers, and broccoli
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Almonds and sunflower seeds
  • Lean protein like chicken and shellfish
