Healthy Walmart Shopping List for Organic and Clean Eating
Does the cost of food prevent you from eating the way you want to?
Do you want to find organic and healthier options but your budget doesn’t provide for it?
It’s true, healthy eating can be expensive! I’ve shopped at a number of different stores looking for the best deals to feed my family food that is healthy, natural and/or organic, and cost-effective!
Food costs can quickly eat up your monthly budget so figuring out how to make your money stretch is key! Unfortunately, many of the cost-effective food choices are not very healthy and full of artificial ingredients. But finding my family a cost-effective solution for healthy eating became a mission of mine! I still work weekly to find the best deals and shop different stores to see what works.
One of my recent favorites for healthy eating is Walmart! I’m not going to lie, for awhile, I avoided Walmart’s grocery section. Considering I could buy tires, shoes, and my groceries in the same store just had me a wee bit skeptical. I questioned the quality of produce and if I could find enough natural and organic options at a reasonable price. My main reason for checking out Walmart as a viable option for healthy eating was convenience. Our schedule is just crazy! With two kids in school and multiple activities, I can’t be running around to multiple stores. The allure of one-stop shopping piqued my interest.
One of the recipes I made with my Healthy Eating at Walmart Shopping List was a variation on this yummy 21 Day Fix Approved Asian Stir fry!
I was blown away by the selection of natural and organic items at Walmart. Not only that, the quality is what I was really impressed by. There has been several times that I’ve purchased organic items, only to have them spoil in just a few days. I’ve had great luck with the quality at Walmart. In this season of life, one-stop shopping on a budget at Walmart works.
Here are a few of the items I found at Walmart to support our healthy eating mission!

My Meal Plan for the week!
So now you might be wondering, what did you make with all of these healthy eating items? Did your hubby and kids eat it? Here is a sneak peek into my meal plan for the week!
This week we are getting back into the swing of things from a healthy eating perspective. We spent last week in Disney World so our eating was less than optimal from a health and portion perspective 🙂 But that’s one of the highlights of vacation right??
In an effort to de-bloat here is our meal plan for the week!
But what are the kids eating??? We love to have our kids eat healthy. We are always trying new foods with them, since both have had a tendency to be extremely picky. My older daughter has grown out of it (mostly!) but it’s only been through trial and error and having her try new things.

Picking My Meal Battles = Less Mealtime Stress, Less Food Waste
Breakfast for them tends to be pancakes or breakfast bars. Lunch is usually a sandwich, cherry tomatoes, a cheese stick, and cutie. For dinner, I am completely OK with feeding them “kid food” i.e. mac & cheese or pizza if we are eating something that I know will only cause a battle. This week we actually had some leftovers for them to eat when we did Asian Stir Fry, BUT they would eat it usually (if I separated their meat and veggies of course!) My girls are actually big fans of meatballs and my oldest loves zoodles. I’ve found that picking my battles with their meals helps us to all have a less stressful meal time and not throw food away.
