Date nights are crucial for an intentional and thriving marriage.  If you are a busy mom or have a side business and you are dedicating ALL of your time to it, you might want to reconsider.

If one of your intentions for 2018 was to be more intentional in your marriage then you MUST be planning date nights!  It can be hard with kids, budgets, time, I know!  If you are a blogger like me, or running another small business… friend, we have got to be that much more intentional.  Throw in being on a budget and I probably just made you consider closing this post.  But don’t!  Not all date nights have to be expensive.  In fact, there are a ton of cheap date ideas out there, some you can even do at-home!  Making time in your schedule for a date night with your spouse can be cost-effective and actually an investment in your marriage.

Remembering you as a couple before kids is so important.

Our marriage went through the same routine that most new parents do.  We were so focused on the babies and toddlers and were just exhausted.  Thankfully we have very generous parents who offered babysitting services so we could enjoy some time together.  But as we got busier and more focused on our budget, we had to adjust.  In-home date nights became a regular in our house also.  This can be a great option for you if you are short on babysitters or aren’t comfortable leaving your kids just yet.  I know, I’ve been there!  Throw in business and it can be that much harder to be intentional.  Busy moms, especially those with side businesses or blogs can find it really hard to put time in for themselves and for their marriage!  When you have a few extra minutes and you have a business you want to grow, how can you do it all?
