Email Marketing Tips and Strategy & 5 Easy Steps to Increase Your Email Subscriber List. Blogging Tips and Email Marketing Ideas #blogging #bloggingtips #emailmarketing

It seems like everyday you wake up and hear a new story about algorithm changes with social media.  Let’s be honest friends, we aren’t in charge.  An honest mentor once said to me, how can we complain about something that we don’t pay for?

Truth be told, she’s kind of right!  For years, we paid nothing to promote our content across social media.  With the onslaught of new technology, we were able to promote pretty easily.  Things have changed.  I recently heard that our social media content (you know that stuff we work so hard to curate!) gets seen by only 6% of our audience.  YIKES!  Without a huge budget, how can a blogger stand out, find their niche, and serve those they are wanting to serve?

I spent YEARS consumed with trying to find the perfect social media strategies.  But truth be told, social media is someone else space.  The only thing you really own, is your email list.

So, if you don’t already have one, get started NOW!  Don’t get intimidated if you are starting out with ZERO email subscribers.  Like anything, this stuff takes time.  But, these email marketing tips should help you to get your subscriber list growing!

Email Marketing Tips for growing your subscriber list #blogging #emailmarketing #bloggingtips5 Easy steps to increase your email subscribers

  1. Offer a freebie – try different things!  See what your readers love.  Maybe they are really into recipes, or printables, or checklists!
  2. Have opt-ins on your website for your content – Convertkit helps me to easily add opt-ins to each of my blog posts!  (Scroll down for more info on Convertkit and how I use it to grow my blog!)
  3. Use social media to connect with your current audience – social media is where the connection is!  Serve, serve, serve, and THEN sell!  Creating that community in an authentic way on your social media will make sure your tribe finds you!
  4. Create content that your readers will want to read more of!  Sometimes it’s hard to know what your readers want!  Don’t be afraid to ask them!  Work smarter, not harder!

So what happens when your list does grow?  Because it will happen!  Don’t be afraid to analyze what’s working and what’s not and make changes quickly!  One of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in my 6 years of business has been to stick to something that isn’t working for too long!  And, to not start an email list sooner!

How do I organize my email list?  Convertkit does it for me!

Does the sound of creating an email list and managing it make you want to quit right now?  I can completely understand.  I tend to get way to bogged down in the details!  I’ve tried everything, from pen and paper, down to fancy systems.  I was desperate to find something that was simple.  It wasn’t until I found a system that worked that I finally am able to quickly organize and analyze my email list!  Convertkit has been incredible in helping me to organize (and GROW!) my email list as well as analyze what my readers are responding to!

Try Convertkit FREE for 14 days!

Convertkit has been my secret weapon in getting my email list under control.  It helps me to easily create landing pages for different freebies and embed opt-in areas on my website.  Convertkit also offers analytics!  I can see which freebies are doing well and DUPLICATE those!  Work smarter, not harder right?!

So tell me friends, does all of these changes in social media make you want to rip your hair out?  Good, I’m not alone!  Email is it my friends!  What is your email strategy?

Starting the blog was the easy part compared to engaging in an email newsletter strategy for me. I find it pushy, and I need help getting over that I guess!
    Thanks for the tips.

      January 26, 2018 at 3:23 pm

I can totally relate to what you are saying. BUT, email is the one thing that your readers are voluntarily giving to you. So, they want to hear from you!
