9 Essential Healthy Lifestyle Tips to Live a Healthier Life!

Healthy Lifestyle Tips that will get you back to feeling great!

It takes an average of three weeks to create a new habit.  I know when the new year rolls around I am ready to start clean and really focus on making real changes.  It’s so easy in today’s world to get caught up in comparing our journey to someone else’s and trying to find the next solution that will help us to reach our goals.  I know that when I have focused on simplicity and accountability, I have created a routine that works.#healthy #recipes #snacks #healthyliving #healthylifestyle Healthy lifestyle tips for changes and motivation for beginners. The healthy lifestyle & healthy eating advice that has helped me to maintain my 50 pound weight loss for the past 3 years!

I started following a routine very similar to this when I started my own health & fitness journey almost three years ago.  You can feel free to tweak them according to what will work best for you.  But I have found that prioritizing these 9 principles have led to other positive changes across my life!

Living a healthy lifestyle – how to start!

1. Get up 15 minutes earlier
2.  10 minutes of personal development – podcasts, positive reading material, sermons.
3.  30 minute workout – mix it up with cardio, strength training, yoga.  If you’re looking for a new workout routine or accountability, I can help!  Working out was the first thing I started with when I wanted to start a healthy routine.  Learn more about how I lost the weight!
4.  3 servings veggies – Here are a few of my favorite healthy recipes!
5.  4 servings protein – lean meats or plant protein will work!
6.  8 glasses water – having a glass of water by your bedside will help you to knock out a quick 8 ounces!  You’ll be surprised at how easy it is first thing in the morning.
7. No eating after 8p
8. No screens 30 minutes pre-bed
9. Seven hours sleep – play around with this number.  You may need more or less depending on your sleep cycles.  I use my iPhone clock’s bedtime feature to gently remind me when its time for bed.

Which healthy lifestyle tip should I start with?

Taking on all of these steps could be intimidating!  I have found success in implementing one step at a time.  Once I master it, I move on!  This might sound crazy, but think about the 15 minute earlier wakeup time.  With an extra 15 minutes, you’ll be shocked at what you can get accomplished in the morning!

    Great tips to start off the New Year right. It is true that it takes 3 weeks to make a habit. Nothing happens overnight, but the results are worth it.

    Thanks for sharing your healthy lifestyle tips. Becoming healthier is definitely one of my goals for 2018. I really need to follow some of your tips such as eating more veggies, drinking more water, and not eating after 8pm.

    Great tips! There are a few things I already do, but I’m ready to make the rest of the changes for 2018. No screens 30 min before bed is an awesome one. I also need to up my water intake. Great motivation!

      that made a HUGE difference in my sleep. I tend to be an insomniac when it comes to falling asleep and I really notice a difference with my screentime, mainly my computer or phone.

    Haha, living a more healthy life is definitely in the plans for me for 2018, if only b/c I’m only now getting back into exercise/normal movement after 6 months nursing a broken foot! 🙁 (and no driving so I couldn’t even go to the gym!)

    I love this. They are all so basic and yet, I regularly need reminded to stick with them. The one I really need to work on is the “get up 15 minutes earlier”. I’m thinking that will be a good New Years resolution.

    These are all such great tips! I’ve been wanting to eat healthier and work out more. I do some walking, but I really need to tone and get in some extra cardio. Getting up earlier and going to bed on time has done a HUGE number on my health and I’ve felt more motivated than ever!

    Living a cleaner and more healthy lifestyle is definitely on my list for 2018! Thankfully we’ve started a little early. I’ve noticed #1-#3 and drinking more water has had so much impact already on my mood and how I feel everyday!

    Now that I’m pregnant I am definitely trying to do all of these! (except getting up 15 minutes early) I’m thankfully a morning person already 🙂 And yes to devotions first thing!

    All of these are awesome tips! Especially the waking up early and exercising ones. I’ve started getting up at 4:30 in the morning, and doing 60-90minutes of intense exercise every day. I have never felt better! Thanks for sharing these ideas 🙂

    I love this post!!! One of my biggest goals for 2018 is to get up earlier! I’ve just gotten out of the habit but I feel so much better when I’m able to start my day earlier and with exercise!

    These are such good tips and honestly the best habits are started before new year so you can hit the ground running by 2018! I have to stop eating late but I’ve stuck to my fitness routine and I’m so glad I did. Thanks for the tips!

    I’d definitely like to have a healthier 2018. These are such great tips, and they all seem easy enough to follow if you’re motivated enough. Once it becomes part of your routine, it should be easy, anyways. 🙂 No screens before bed would have to be my biggest problem area here – oops. x

    What I’ve learned is it’s best to implement these slowly! So for the first week, get up 15 minutes earlier and spend that time reading. Second week, do the same but add in exercise. Third week, keep going and add in more water, ect! It’s worked great for me.
