Top 5 Yoga Poses for Stress Relief

Doesn’t everyone need a little zen every now and then?

Coming off of back-to-school and going into the holiday season, it can be quite the challenge to get to a yoga class or even take a few minutes to yourself.  But, it’s been proven that a few minutes of breathing and relaxation can help you to de-stress, feel more calm, and begin to detox your body.

Twisting Lunge

Any good twist will begin to detox your body.  Plus this feels really great on your spine.  You can your knee down for a modification.

I love this pose to center myself and work on my balance.  Stress relief is all about bringing your energy back in and breathing through tension!Top 5 yoga poses for stress relief from Pennsylvania blogger Lyndsey of mommafitlyndsey.com // yoga for anxiety // yoga for moms // beginner yoga // easy yoga // yoga for detox // yoga at home // at home yoga // mamaroo yoga mat // cute yoga mat // colorful yoga mat // lululemon // easy-to-do yoga

Seated Breathing

Nothing is better than breathing.  In through your nose and out through your nose.  Then, a few exhales out of your mouth feel amazing!

These are all basic yoga poses.  You should always consult your doctor before starting any health & fitness routine.  I have found doing these few simple poses for 5 minutes can take my stress level seriously down!

And who doesn’t need a cute yoga mat?  I’m all about a cute and colorful mat whether I’m working out at home or taking a mat to a yoga class.  I really love this mat by MamaRoo!  Its unlike any yoga mat I’ve tried because the top is super soft and I don’t slide on it.  The bottom rubber grip stays in place.  The colors are vibrant and so pretty!  I went to hot yoga class today and it was the FIRST time I didn’t slip on my mat!  Score!

I don’t know why it’s so hard to pull that yoga matt out for 10 minutes of stretching at night but your right, it’s so relaxing <3 As a mom catching my breathe at the end of a long busy day is important for my sanity! I especially loved the twisting lunge suggestion!
