3 Week Yoga Retreat Results – Can you lose weight with yoga?
Scroll down for my official results, but the short answer is yes! You can lose weight with yoga! I’m so sad that my 3 week yoga retreat has to end. 🙁 I originally wrote this program off as something that would bore me and would provide me with zero results. I couldn’t have been more wrong! The program was broken into three weeks, Foundation, Expansion, and Progression. Each week was led by a different instructor, Vytas, Elise, and Ted and led you through the beginning foundations of yoga, all the way through a more advanced knowledge. I have been doing yoga for years but it was really nice to be able to go back to the basics and really learn more.
What I loved about the 3 Week Yoga Retreat
More than anything, I got RELAXATION, recovery, and the ability to slow down. Each morning did our 30 minute yoga program and I felt so calm about starting the day. Now of course the day did not always remain calm (hello I have small children :)) but it did set me in the right mindset. There was also a 10 minute bedtime yoga routine that I enjoyed so much! I tend to have trouble getting to sleep and I have never slept better than when I took 10 minutes before bed to do the 10 minute PM yoga!

What I ate during the 3 Week Yoga Retreat
During Week 1 I followed the Meal Plan to a T. Week 2 was a little hairy with our schedule so I kept my meals heavy on veggies, proteins, and healthy fats, and still incorporated daily Shakeology. Week 3 came around and I broke out the crockpot and I went back to some 21 Day Fix old favorites (meatballs and salsa chicken!) and still stayed on track. I was extremely mindful of what I was eating during this time. The intensity of the workouts was obviously not as high as some of the other programs I have done. The shrimp stir-fry from the 3 week yoga retreat meal plan was delicious!
What I struggled with during the 3 Week Yoga Retreat
Boredom with the meal plan after week 1. I usually like to follow a three week meal plan so it was a little challenging for me that the meal plan was only for seven days. I was also a little hungry during the first week. However considering I just came home from vacation, I figured that was to be expected 🙂
