21 Day Fix Restaurant Guide for Travel
So lots of readers and challengers have been asking lately, what do you eat when you go out? Especially when you are on the 21 Day Fix, it can be challenging! So how do I approach eating out? This past week we took a road trip to Hershey (pics to come!) so I was eating out ALL week! Here are my tricks of the trade for eating out and eating while traveling!

1. Plan for your trip! Healthy travel snacks are key! I blogged about this last week about how you can find healthy road trip snacks. I would rather have a few healthy snacks on hand than have to scrounge around for something and end up picking an unhealthy snack!
2. Try to find healthy restaurant options. They are out there! I am a firm believer that you can find healthy options anywhere! Even as simple as a grilled chicken sandwich and a side salad. I would even ditch the bread from the sandwich and put the chicken on the sandwich! Stick to fresh foods, try to avoid the bread basket, and ask your server to make changes to your order! Here’s a great example, if a fish you want is sautéed in butter, ask them to grill it instead. Yes you may sound like “that person” but it is worth it!
3. Be realistic. Its traveling, its vacation, you likely will not eat 100% clean 100% of the time. I try to follow the 80/20 rule. 80% clean, 20% fun. That way you don’t feel like you are depriving yourself! Its much easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle when you are able to treat yourself now and again!
Here is a quick look at a few meals I had while on the road this week! I stuck with fresh salads, “fit portion” menus, and high protein and fiber choices 🙂
